Istanbul based artist Sinan Buyukbas recently combined Kandinsky’s colors and geometric forms to create quite the inspired set of sculptures.
If you’re wondering who Kandinsky is, well, you should probably brush up on your art history… But in the meantime, here’s the basic rundown: Russian-born Wassily Kandinsky was a painter, a printmaker and a theorist and was basically one of the pioneers of Abstract art.
Of his inspiration for the project, Buyukbas had this to say:
“I started with thinking each letter as a 3d canvas to play around with color and form, but also together they would form a type experimentation on Kandinsky. I presented each letter as a color and form composition and tried to relate them with the space as they are intended to be perceived in 3d dimension.”
