The latest prototype of the brand new Lexus CT 200h was showcased in the Distillery District Toronto on the last weekend in August 2010.

The weekend long event featured 4 prominent Canadian bands, VIP cocktail receptions and hands on interactive kiosks and displays.

The Music Lineup included:

Friday August 27 – The Stills
Fervent indie rock from Montreal Quebec and signed to Arts & Crafts. They have released 3 albums since their formation in 2000 and have been awarded 2 Juno awards for their 2008 album “Oceans Will Rise”.

The BC born independent singer-songwriter has released 7 albums since 1996 and has had multiple features in popular televisions shows.

Saturday August 28 – The Midway State
The four piece  Toronto rock band released their first album “Holes” in 2008 and have already opened for bands such as Death Cab for Cutie, K-OS, and Jimmy Eat World.

Sunday August 29 – Paper Lions
Formerly named “Chucky Danger Band” (as of Febuary 1 2008) this P.E.I native indie rock band has 2 full-length album releases and multiple East Cost Music Award Nominations.

Cocktail Reception was held in the lavish Boiler House with passed hors d’oeuvre wine, beer and mixed drinks.

The CT 200h is a 1.8 liter front-wheel drive hatchback designed for drivers seeking luxury and practicality. The preview event displayed multiple vehicles in the cobblestone laneways of 55 Mill street. Guests were invited to sit in and feel out the new spacious interiors. Interactive kiosks set up around the outdoor venue allowed guests to voice their opinions while learning about the features highlights.

A main focus is the cars spacious interior and accessible hatchback. The cabin is said to be “driver-inspired” where all key functions are strategically placed for the drivers ease of use. The Remote Touch is a built in feature that simulates using a computer mouse so that Bluetooth, navigation and interior controls are right at hand.

What is being described as the “sporty, versatile, and highly efficient” member to the Lexus family will be available in 2011.
