Hello my darlings! Another week, another Music Monday. Unfortunately I am insanely busy right now so I only have time for a quick post (I have a 6 AM wake up tomorrow. nice…). What was up with this horrid weekend? Rain, rain, go away. Come back…never. Alright, that sounded pretty pessimistic, especially considering the absolutely gorgeous summer we’ve had thus far. Booya!
So, I stumbled upon my favorite quote last night. For a few months I had completely forgotten about it.
It’s hard to stay mad, when there’s so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once, and it’s too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst… And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can’t feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life… You have no idea what I’m talking about, I’m sure. But don’t worry… you will someday.
- Lester Burnham, American Beauty
Never forget it.
Download Domo Genesis & The Alchemist Prophecy. NOT EDM – AMAZING. TRUSTTTTT ME.
Download Adventure Club Retro City. New Adventure Club…….duh. You know what you are in for.
Download Ellie Goulding Hanging On (Sound Remedy Remix). Ellie Goulding’s haunting voice and Sound Remedy’s high energy dubstep remix are a match made in heaven. MUST download.
Download Walden Mario Theme Remix. SUPER MARIO…what!!!!! Oh yes, huge huge huge fan. JV and her video games. You know it’s love when you actively seek out video game theme remixes.
Download Dream This Isn’t House. I was completely blown away by this dubstep track. This is a slow moving but incredibly heavy-hitting track, you’ll see. What a treat.
Download Dream 02 This Isn’t House (Flinch Remix). Way better than the LoBounce Remix. INCREDIBLE. Must download.
Download Souls of Mischief 93 til infinity. It is undoubtedly my favorite track of the moment, very old school hiphop…we are talking 1993.
This relaxed track reminds me of the great classics of hiphop, like Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Run DMC, Kurtis Blow, and The Sugarhill Gang. Even though EDM’s lovely tentacles have wriggled their way into the very sinews of my being, hiphop was actually my first love. I can still rap Eminem’s ‘Infinite’ better than anyone I know (which is quite limited but at least I have SOME street cred).
