USUGROW

A great video featuring Japanese street artist Usugrow. The profile takes us through his current evolution and creative process all while perfectly capturing the dark aesthetic of his work.

We’re most privy to his wall pieces and drawn items because they best show off the elegance of his work.

For those unfamiliar with his work, Usugrow came up in Japan’s underground punk rock scene. His unique take on mixing traditional Japanese artwork with punk iconography catapulted Usugrow to star status, garnering him overseas collaborations and recognition in a number of countercultural movements.

Today he is part of The Shinganists (The Outsiders), a group of artists that includes Mozyskey, Toshikazu Nozaka as well as Bene and Jun Kaneko, who exhibit their work around world.
